Q: What does Digital Phone offer?

A: (1) The power to call anyone, anytime, anywhere in Hawaii, across the United States and Canada as often as you like for one monthly price as low as $39.95.

(2) Caller ID, Call Waiting, Speed Dial and Call Forwarding and more at no extra cost.

(3) The convenience of one simple bill for local and long distance.

Q: Will I save money?

A: To find out, simply add together your current bills for local and long distance. If the total is more than $44.95 per month, Digital Phone will probably save you money. Plus, if you subscribe to High-Speed Internet and Video services from Time Warner Cable, you'll receive a discount of $5.00 per month and pay just $39.95 per month for Digital Phone within the United States.

Q: Do I need to subscribe to other Time Warner Cable services to get Digital Phone?

A: No. If you are not a current customer you will pay only $49.95. If you subscribe to Standard Cable or High-Speed Internet Service from Time Warner Cable you receive a monthly discount of $5.00 and pay just $44.95 per month for Digital Phone. If you subscribe to both Standard Cable and High-Speed Internet Service from Time Warner Cable you receive a discount of $10.00 per month and pay just $39.95 per month for Digital Phone.

Q: Is there a fee to switch to Digital Phone?

A: No. Switching and installation are both free, and all Time Warner Cable services come with a 30-day money-back guarantee.

Q: Can I keep my phone number?

A: Yes, in nearly every case. We do need to verify availability for each phone number.

Q: Can I get more than one phone line with Digital Phone?

A: No, not yet, but this option should be available soon.

Q: Can all my home phones connect to Digital Phone?

A: Yes.

Q: Does Digital Phone replace my home phone service?

A: Yes. If you keep your phone number, we will inform your old provider that Time Warner Cable is providing service. If you receive a new phone number, you will need to contact your old provider to disconnect service after your Digital Phone installation is complete.

Q: Can I use Digital Phone for my business?

A: No. Digital Phone is a residential service only.

Q: Can I talk on the phone and use my High-Speed modem to access the Internet at the same time?

A: Yes. Your Digital Phone modem enables you to do both because the two services are independent.

Q: What about my DSL service?

A: If your DSL and phone service use the same phone line, you will need to replace your DSL service before we install Digital Phone. Time Warner Cable recommends High-Speed Internet service from one of our partners: Road Runner or Earthlink.

Q: Will my dial-up Internet service work with Digital Phone?

A: At this time, Digital Phone service does not include support of fax or dial-up Internet calls. While these communications may work occasionally using Digital Phone, Time Warner Cable recommends you keep a simple, low cost analog phone line from your existing telephone company for the use of fax or dial-up Internet service. Time Warner Cable plans to introduce enhancements and products to support fax and dial-up Internet later this year or early next year.

Q: What if my service is changed without my permission?

A: This is called "slamming," and it's illegal. If your local, in-State or long distance is switched without your permission, contact the Hawaii PUC at 808.586.2020, or call the FCC at 1-888-CALL-FCC or go to www.fcc.gov.

Q: What if I have a problem?

A: For a problem with your bill or service, call Time Warner Cable at 643-3663. If your concern is not resolved, ask to speak with a supervisor. If you are still not satisfied, contact the consumer hotline at the Hawaii PUC (Public Utilities Commission) or the FCC (Federal Communications Commission). The hotline staff will review rules with you, advise you of your rights, and, if needed, work with you and the company to try to resolve your problem. To contact the Hawaii PUC, call 808.586.2020 or go to www.state.hi.us/budget/puc/puc.htm. To contact the FCC, call 1-888-CALL FCC (1-888-225-5322) or go to www.fcc.gov.
