Established in 1897, the Hawaiian Humane Society is an independent, non-profit organization that promotes the human-animal bond and the humane treatment of all animals. Much more than a shelter for homeless animals, the society is a rescue operation, a placement agency, an educational and advocacy organization and a pet care resource center.
